Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement for the Zur Shamir Website

In recent years, websites have become the primary platform through which companies publish information and offer services to the general public. Zur Shamir’s goal in making this site accessible is to create equal opportunity online for people with a wide range of disabilities and for people who use assistive technologies while browsing the internet.

Accessibility adjustments on this website
This website has been adapted for accessibility in line with the recommendations of the Israeli Standard (IS 5568) for web content accessibility at level AA, together with the recommendations of the WCAG 2.0 document published by the W3C, the international organisation for internet standards.

The adjustments made to the site were tested on the most widely used browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

For the best experience with a screen reader, we recommend using the most recent version of NVDA.

A number of measures have been taken to make the site accessible to people with disabilities, among them:

• Adapting the site for easy and convenient keyboard navigation.
• Using a clear, prominent focus outline when the user navigates the site with a keyboard.
• Using appropriate visual contrast between text colour and background colour.
• Tagging headings in a correct hierarchy that reflects the information in them and the structure of the page.
Adjustments made for visitors who use screen-reading software:
• Adding suitable alternative text to the images that appear on the site.
• Using appropriate headings, tagged according to the information they contain and the structure of the page.
• Using simple, clear language across all pages of the site.
• Using the aria-label attribute so that the information on the site is conveyed correctly by screen-reading software.

Consulting and guidance on the accessibility of the Zur Shamir website were provided by the WEB-A team for the accessibility of websites, applications and advanced systems.
